Motorcycle Helmet Laws

Motorcycle helmet laws are set of rules adopted by formal governmental action that states that each motorcycle biker must wear a motorcycle helmet to protect him or her from head injuries in case accidents happen.

Before there are limited laws in terms of motorcycle safety and some laws assume that older riders don't need as much protection as younger, less experienced riders. Conversely, over the past three years motorcycle deaths have gone up 68 per cent among riders 40 and older, but only 20 per cent in those younger than 40. Today, 40 per cent of all seriously wounded riders are 40 and older, up from 14 per cent in 1990. This increase is due in part to the fact that more and more old, affluent professionals own motorcycles. In most countries, states and provinces, these older riders are not required to wear a helmet. Due to these findings, many countries have reinforced their motorcycle helmet laws, demanding that a biker must wear a protective headgear when using a motorcycle.
